Hi. Does anyone know how to take the LIRR to Long Island Airport? I've looked it up, but have found conflicting routes. The car services are around $100 one way. Thank you.

I think you go to Ronkonkoma and then there is a shuttle bus that runs every half hour or hour or something. What are you finding?

I've only done the LIRR to Ronkonkoma (actually only done it in reverse), and while it does blow, it's fairly simple. It may also be possible to get a cab from train to airport (and vice versa).

It's amazing how long it took (and, in the case of LGA, is still taking) to get decent connectivity between rail and our airports.

gosh, even the JFK and Newark experiences aren't perfect. the E train SUX, and having to change from the subway to the PATH to the AirTrain also SUX. bleh. the easiest thing, but obviously they're subject to traffic, are those buses that leave from Grand Central.

Thank you! The train route looks the same, but I found a reasonably price transfer to the airport via cab. So I have to leave 4.5 hours before my flight, but it's only 14.50 to get to the airport instead of $100. I'll take it. Thanks for the responses!
