Hey everyone,

So here is my story, I'll try to keep it short. I'm engaged and my fiance lives in Brooklyn, we're looking for a place to live, we're in our mid 20's. We have a family friend that owns a townhouse on W 36th St just outside of Sea Gate. Does anyone know how this area is? I know Coney Island has become pretty Russian in the past 20 years, but I also know there are some projects near by, just not exactly sure how close and are they within a few blocks of w 36th st., in othewords is the area influenced more by the near by Sea Gate community or the nearby projects?[/code]

that part of coney is still pretty ghetto. i see chinese more than russian moving into that part of the hood. you gotta go east of Stillwell to get out of the ghetto into the russian area. or move into seagate.

    but thats just my opinion.

it's really hard to understand why housing so close to the water, not a little river or lake but the ocean, has projects and low income housing, and pretty close to one of the largest and most popular cities in the world. Anywhere else it would be almost impossible to find a place in that location under a mil. thanks for the info, maybe i will just use it as a temp place till i find something better
