what the f happen to hollywood happy endings!!!!!(spoilers)

I mean i was expecting a happy ending where jane gets the guy at the end of the movie . i know the real jane austen dies and alone besides family. but they made up this whole movie around her time with tom anyway. I know they know each other in real life. but there wasn't a real romance how the movie imagined it.

why not a happy ending . blah they suck. good movie though still a bit disappointed for not having a happy ending.

I think the longing is the real romantic part. So... So if you like longing, it sort've was a happy (melancholy) ending? I see what you mean, though.

after watching this movie. i had to watch pride and prejudice(new one) just to have a happy ending hehe. which complements each other.

I'm sick of this period British stuff. Couldn't Jane Austen do something more modern?
