NYPD HELICOPTER CIRCLING FOR AWHILE NOW...WHAT HAPPENED...

I LIVE IN CLINTON HILL AND HEAR HELICOPTERS CIRCLING FOR THE PAST 20 MINS...SOUNDS LIKE FULTON ST NEAR WASHINGTON OR CAMBRIDGE OR ST JAMES.ANYONE KNOW WHAT HAPPENED?

I saw the Helicopter while I was on Jay Street and I saw it around Nostrand and Herkimer after I got off the bus.

the UN General Assembly is in town now. Probably just a general "let's watch the whole city just to be safe" kind of thing.

I don't think the city flies low helicopters over the C train subway station at Clinton/Washington for the UN General Assembly.

I imagine something went down and they're searching for someone. Gothamist Newsmap doesn't have anything yet.

...Or, that's where one of the helicopters watching the Brooklyn Bridge is stationed?

They go a little nuts with security. No. this area is not by the UN, but they may want to keep an eye on the Navy Yard, say, to make sure no one's sneaking across the river...that kind of thing.

I was walking out of Franny's last night on Flatbush & St. Marks around 10pm and I saw no less than 40 police car with sirens fly up Flatbush in the direction of the Manhattan Bridge.

I looked online but couldn't find anything. It was really really scary to see. I'm sure the helicopter and mass of police cars are related.

i saw the cops, too. it looked like one of those drill deals where they pretend there's a terrorist threat and see how fast they can get 8 zillion cops to one place.

Looks the circling helicopter affected your vision.

I heard them while walking home through Fort Greene Park. The helicopter was no more than 50 feet above the brownstones on Washing Park (east boarder of the park). Highly doubt this was a drill. I saw a ambulance & a NYPD van speeding through the park with lights flashing. Actually worried about going to the park right now to walk my dog since the two kids were shot there last month. Anyone hear anything else??
