Best Park Slope Record Stores

Hey, I'm new to the area. I'm interested in finding a store with any and all of the following:

- Good vinyl selection

-Used Music

-Nice/ Knowledgable staff

- Assorted music merch such as shirts, stickers, posters


I appreciate the help

We've seen lots of closures, and I don't know if any music stores are left!

There *have* been a ton of stoop sale set ups for vinyl and cds in the north slope -- there were two guys doing it several weeks in a row close to 7th and Union, and some others advertised on Fifth Ave lightposts.
Slim pickin' I'm afraid.

Anybody know if the guys that were on Fifth Ave near Puppets Jazz found a new place for their store? They had a teeney store with exactly what you describe.

How sad, thanks for the help so far, I just wish I didn't have to hike out to Williamsburg for some music.

I believe you are referring to Something Else. (Not to be confused with Something Else on 5th.) Anthony, the owner--and also vocalist/bassist for Radio 4--told me he had a new spot secured (on 7th Ave, if I'm not mistaken) before he moved. But I haven't seen/spoken to him lately and I think he may have also changed the name of the store.

i love shopping here. he's always got a cool story about every record you buy and he'll start singing some of it. i was in the other week just siftin through the 45s like i do every weekend (gotta keep the collection growin) and i found some great stuff in his 25 cent bin. he looked at them and asked "these were over there? oh my world i must be loosin' my mind here". gotta make sure i stop in saturday before i say goodbye to the hood.

I was over there today. I think that there's a lot of good stuff there, but quite frankly, there's not enough space for it all. When the bins are jam-packed so tight that you can't flip through'em, it makes it tough to find something to buy. When there's an additional 30 LPs stacked on top of the stuff in the bins, it's impossible.
