Relocation advice needed

edited November -1 in Park Slope
Just got the word that I'm being transferred to New York and started searching for young family friendly neighborhoods.

My wife and I have three children (5, 6, and 8) so our location depends heavily on schools, pediatricians, and proximity to parks, shops, etc.

Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated. I'd rather hear the pros and cons from neighbors than from realtors.

park slope is a great area to raise kids but its gonna cost ya. if you're going for cheaper. check out midwood(boring), bensonhurst(not so boring) safe as well tons of families or bayridge(not so boring)

park slope is grrrrrrrreat for families. i can't say enough good things about the nabe, but of course i'm biased because i live here. i have lived in a few places in new york city, but i CHOSE to settle in the slope. it's got amenities, great restaurants, and its proximity to the absolutely fabulous Prospect Park cannot be beat.
