Subject: police and helicopter on 9th - what's up?

At 1030 this morning, there were about five cops entering the back of the burnt out building on 9th street, close to 8th ave. There was also a helicopter circling overhead. The cops were in suits and had their badges on their lapel.

There's making some kind of announcement too, but I can't see the front of the building.

Anyone know what this is about?

Gothamist reports a "home invasion robbery" at 497 9th St this morning. Related?

I read that it was a home invasion robbery. Hope they catch the scumbags. Another one on 11th street recently as well.

I guess aal's well that ends well.

    Home invasion foiled
A would-be thief was arrested after trying to break into an occupied Ninth Street apartment, cops said.

The 52-year-old tried to enter the apartment, which is between Seventh and Eighth avenues, from the fire escape on Sept. 26 only to find the tenant inside.

The resident called cops, who quickly made the collar.

No, it's not over. Is this a**hole the same one who robbed 11th street?

There was a Kensington robbery two days ago and they said on the news the woman was tied up and they got away.

If they tried robbing my place I'd be so mad. I'd be like "get out!"...
