How long has Java Dave's on Lafayette been closed?

I just noticed yesterday that it was shuttered.

Aw.... they're real nice in there. I hope it's not permanent.

Yeah it's been down for a few weeks now actually...looks like they're taking the bar down and dismantling the whole interior, so prob not coming back.

But right next door on the corner is a new restaurant coming in...south african I think.

Passed by there today and everything is el gon. Nigerian bar and restaurant coming to Lafayette and Cumberland.

Meant to say el gono.lol

Can't say I'm surprised - every time I walked by I marveled that it was still open. Seemed like a tough location.
