Has anyone else tried feeding their dogs a raw food diet such as Primal?

I just started a few weeks ago and have seen a marked overall improvement in my 8 year old dog

It's actually supposed to be optimal. I never tried the prepackaged stuff.

I suppose now that I live near kosher butchers (a lot of pathogens are in the blood of the meat; kosher butchers salt the meat slightly to draw the blood out) I could make the stuff at home.

To make it at home, cut into small bite-size chunks and then blanch the meat for 1-3 minutes in boiling water to kill off any germs. It will still be considered raw, but is much more sanitary. Never just feed your animal raw meat. The prepackaged stuff (assuming that the source of meat is okay) should be okay.
