Man, they really roast those Park Slope Food Co-op escorts with the vests. Fuckin' dorks.

That one in particular isn't on the site though. At least I can't find it.

the gist of it is that the vv thinks the food coop delivery people look like idiots in those orange vests. It's not a bad point...

I love those people! I'm indifferent to the vests, but I love getting walked home with my groceries when I have heavy stuff.

If you're not a member of the coop, I don't see how this could possibly effect you. If you are a member of the coop, it's nothing but good.

And now that I know what this is about, I'll remind you that name-calling is for dorks . . .

Steve... Now that you gave the gist... even if they do look like idiots in their orange vests.. the idea that someone would accompany you home on foot and return your cart seems like a good one. We all know it is impossible to shop at the Coop with a car (even if you have one) because of the Parknope problem. Hey I am a former member of the coop (for many reasons) but I give them credit when they come up with a good idea and this way of helping deal with people getting their groceries home sounds like a great one to me.

i have my brother's car for the week and we did a late night run to the co-op with the car and the vest person made the cart to car thing so very easy -- i liked it. but the only thing i don't like is that i feel like it encourages people to drive to the co-op, like we did.

although, it's nice to hear of people like pitu getting walking to a home, not a car!

It just looks really funny. Especially when the vest person is just walking with the person. That must be some fun small talk.

I've been a walker sometimes, particularly for make-up work. I don't mind it - and you can always think of something to say. I've gotten to know a lot of people that way, and it's cool.

I can totally appreciate how walking someone home creates a chatty atmosphere. Realistically.. the coop innovation of having walkers is a great idea. Sure.. They could trust me to bring back the car if I am a member of the coop... but when? If the carts weren't returned within the hour by the walker then the coop would have to buy and track a lot more carts.

uch! I typed CAR instead of cART On that post. Was that wishful thinking?.. including the wish that if I had a car I could find a parking space near enough to the coop to drive my groceries back home.
