Good place to get hair styled?

Anyone have a recommendation for a place to get my hair done? I'm looking for wash and style--a nice up-do/chignon. (I have long, thick, wavy European hair, if it matters.) Cheap and good would be nice, near Fulton & Washington would be even nicer. Thanks!

There is a hair salon on Putnam off Grand Ave....or you can walk to Joseph Tyler hair salon on Myrtle Ave off Washington next to Il Torchio restaurant. The more economical of the two is the one on Putnam next to Kush.
