Buyin a pie!

I can't cook, so my contribution to thanksgiving will be a (purchased) pie. Any good bakery suggestions? Doesn't have to be in the slope, but brooklyn would be nice...


and if it's not $80 that would be great too. I've seen lots of places selling them for that much (or more) and unless its made of gold, I aint buyin.

Seriously, the best pies ever are the Little Pie Company. Unfortunately, no BK locations but they are in Grand Central. I recommend the Sour Cream Apple Walnut Pie.

If you just want BK pie try Junior's (or even better bring a cheescake)

I like Paris on 9th street bewteen 5th and 6th ave for pies..
Pre order what you want and they will have it waiting for you.

Generally guests that bring dessert do bring pies so if the pumpkin and apple pie are covered it is nice to bring some other dessert.

Cookies are terrific.. especially for those people who want something sweet but don't have the interest in over stuff with dessert at the end of what is the largest and most caloric meal of the year.

If you can get over to Red Hook you can buy an excellent Key Lime pie at the Steve's factory, which is about 1/2 block away from the Fairway supermarket there. Steve's also has a delivery truck, which I've seen in the Slope, so you may be able to arrange delivery.

I second the key lime pie recommendation. For some reason, I was thinking about those pies this morning as dragged my somber butt into the work this morning. Not sure why. Anyway, they are good.

I would also try Lady Bird Bakery (used to be Two Red Hens) on 8th Avenue btwn 11-12 streets. I have never tried their pies, but the cakes, scones, biscuits, and coffee are truly UNBELIEVE!! OH YUMMY!

I'm one of the hostesses of the dinner (which is in park slope) so I've got free reign on dessert territory...although I think I'm going to bring a different kind of pie, maybe a berry of some sort or something. I'll have to take a looksie at all of the offerings! Cookies are a good idea, though- the boy is cooking the big stuff (turkey, some casseroles, etc) but I'd like to make some apps or somehting. Its a small group, about 10 people including us...he's got a grill, maybe I'll do some lightly grilled fruit skewers? I feel like we should utilize the grill since we're going to be doing so much cooking inside...

I suggest a cheesecake from Juniors or mini pastries from Monteleones. I prefer the pastries because they are finger size, no mess to clean up after the big dinner etc. If you put your order in early enough maybe you can have Joyce Bakery make a custom pie for you

Two Little Red Hens is now Ladybird Bakery. Apparently the owners of Two Little Red Hens each took a bakery and parted ways earlier this year.

I believe Trois Pommes on 5th next to Le Chandlier also has pies, but since I don't eat them, couldn't say how good they are, but everything else there is delicious! Also you might be able to order pies from Bubby's - that is what they are famous for.

if you haven't tried Betty Bakery in Boerum Hill then you just have to!
All their stuff is amazing, my favorite is their Plum Pie. amazing.

I had a pecan pie from there about a year ago. Best I ever had.
