Wollman Rink Night Safety

Hello,

I'm trying to coordinate a group event at the Prospect Park skating rink on a weekday evening, and I've heard mixed reports about how safe the area is at night. Does anyone have any good or bad experiences with being at the Rink or in that area of the park or that part of the park neighborhood (Prospect Park Station - B/Q) in the evening or at night? Is there one entrance that's safer than another?

Any advice or experience would be greatly appreciated.

My bf got mugged there a few yrs ago when he was running alone. The surrounding area of the rink is quieter than the rest of the park. I think that as long as your group sticks together and you pick a central meeting place that has decent good foot traffic and is well-lit, you should be fine.
