Does anyone know of a local school or charity that would be interested in a good, working iMac?

Kidding- I bet the Y would take it, or boys and girls clubs!

I tried donating an Imac a couple of years back to a library. They said that libraries would want and accept a set of identical computers/gear, but wouldn't be able to take a one-off. Seemed short-sighted at first, but I can understand why someone wouldn't want a hodgepodge computer lab whose components all have varied lifespans and support needs.

Consider donating it to a group called the Community Free Software Group. They are always looking for donations of old hardware that they use in a lab to teach kids PC repair. I've donated to them in the past-- they are an awesome group.

    Heres their website:

If you got to the contacts page http://cfsg.org/contact.html any of the people there will be happy to help, no doubt.

Try a local senior citizens center,it will help some of our friends in their golden age to have somthing that will keep them up to date on things they may be interested in.
