two weeks is a long time to wait. Have you gone to the po to complain?

I don't know what type residence you have, but I have had a terrible time in my brownstones. Both Fort Greene and now in B.Sty the postal workers refuse to put mail in the tenant boxes, and instead throw all building mail into the garden level doorway. So if the tenants with the garden level apartment are traveling, or using the other entrance, or just busy... no one in the building will get mail.
I have complained to the office, but the the delivery persons remain unwilling to walk up to the front door and put mail in the locked boxes as they are required by law to do.
I also get a large amount of mail delivered to the wrong address. Probably between 5 - 10 pieces a week. I personally deliver it to the correct address if it's on my block. Otherwise I write a note asking the p.o. to redeliver and drop it in a local box. However, this is really annoying and I bet very few people do this. Instead, I can imagine most people just toss this incorrectly delivered mail.
I think the p.o. service in both these neighborhood to be appalling. You should contact the supervisor at your p.o. branch and it is possible to take your concern/complaint higher as well.
