olfactory assault?

almost every morning when i walk to the 25th R train i am nauseated by the awful smell of something that smells vaguely like bread. at first i thought it emanated from the Dunkin Donuts...thought it was the smell of them "baking" those awful croissants with fake cheese in them or something. but i've noticed that while i can sometimes smell it as far up as 6th ave, it's concentrated on 24th street and i never actually smell it in front of Dunkin. does anyone else find the smell gross or have any idea where it comes from? does DD "bake" their stuff nearby? or is there another processed food bakery nearby? i think it's the Oleo that i'm smelling.

and no, i am not having morning sickness :P

It's probably Aladdin Bakers on 25th between 5th and 6th. From what I can tell, it seems to be a 24/7 bakery of wraps, pita bread, rolls, bagels...I don't know if I would describe it as awful, but it's definitely bread-y.

On the other hand maybe you smell the zombies of Greenwood. They tend to shuffle about in the morning and have a yeasty-rotting odor.

    It's 50/50 really.

Well, you are walking through the "valley of baked goods" with Aladdin on one side and Dunkin Donuts on the other side. Could overwhelm anyone.

Though I do love the smell of Aladdin's pita bread when it's in their bake rotation.

I guess personal tastes (pun intended :) ).

I LOVE the smell of Alladin. It even comes in my window in the morning. It makes me hungry.
