Sleazy Developer and Landlord Next Door

We have been dealing with a sleazy developer who bought a building next door and has been renovating it for 3 years. He got rid of most of the rent stabilized tenants through bullying tactics and continues to think he can bully the whole block. He takes up parking spaces illegally and dumps his construction debris all over the block so he doesn't have to pay for a dumpster. He works on the weekends without permits etc. etc. We have called 311 over the past 3 years and gotten very little results.

Just wondering if anyone else on this message boad has had any dealings with him as a landlord. I understand he owns other property in Park Slope. His name is Peter Livanos.

Haven't heard of this guy, but I've got a Scarano building being built next door to my place and I found 311 to be fairly responsive about coming out and halting unpermitted weekend work and so on. (The Dept. of Environmental Protection seems faster to respond than Dept. of Housing, definitely.) I'm sorry you're dealing with this -- I know very well how much having a nasty construction site next door can make life unpleasant. Like when they're jackhammering at 7:30 on a Saturday right on the other side of your living room wall... ugh.

You might get some responses here, but you should also search for his name on Brownstoner.com -- they post pretty often about sleazy developers.

    Hi there,

Is someone willing to speak to News 12 Brooklyn regarding this issue? Please call News 12 Brooklyn if you are willing to be interviewed regarding this renovation issue ASAP. We can then set up a time to meet you. I am trying to find the owner's contact info, but am not succesful. I saw there were a lot of complaints made to DOB, so we'll get their part as well. News 12 Brooklyn @ 718-861-6818.

    Thanks
    Albana
