Has anyone ever used magnetic wall paint or chalkboard paint?

If so is there a brand you would recommend?

I want to paint one of the walls in my bedroom with the magnetic paint because they're concrete....and a wall in the kitchen with the chalkboard paint so I can do a great big chalk calender......

Never used them, however there are lease restrictions on if and how you can paint a place.
    Do you rent or own?

Sometimes, but even if there are, it's usually ok since they have to repaint when you leave anyway. My lease had some restrictions in my last place, and I just talked to my super before painting (with a pretty bright orange/red color). He said it was no problem as long as we primed the walls when we left. I got my whole security deposit back.

I rent but was planning on re-painting when I left.

My landlord is super laidback though and has basically said we can paint the apartment or make any additions we want....and if we move he'll just review with us what he wants us to fix or remove....

sweet! thanks for moving the post, I wasn't sure where to write it!

i wonder how strong the magnetic stuff is.

like, if you used it, then painted it out when you moved, would the new tenants find their refrigerator magnets inexplicably drawn to the bedroom?

    spooky.

i think it's just got iron dust in it....so it's not too strong...

if the magnets from the fridge start flying through the apartment I'll be terrified....Poltergeist!

I think you can use the magnet paint and then cover it with whatever color you're painting the rest of the room, so it must be a little strong. You can do a couple coats of magnet, covered by chalkboard fer instance

I stopped thinking about doing it when the wireless and other electromagnetic implications were unclear . . .

In some other incarnation of home, I will have green chalkboard paint on one sunny small wall in my kitchen leading out to the backyard that goes into the woods where my dog will frolic in the creek after chasing the cows/sheep/goats around the wildflower choked fields.
