Jewelry appraisal

Can anyone recommend a good place to get a ring appraised? Doesn't need to be in the Slope--downtown Manhattan and West side are fine, too. Also, does anyone know around how much this might cost? Thanks!

We just had our engagement ring custom made and the Jeweler actually recommended Macy's of all places. And I trust his opinion. That's where we are going.

I have heard good things about Macys also.

Macy's - They were great just get there early in the morning if you go on the week-end. Probably call first. I they charge a percentage of the value of the jewelry they are appraising.
