OK, what is with the helicopters?

So, on this quiet labor day weekend, it sounds like we have some sort of search and rescue going on. It seems that we - at 8th and Carroll - are on the outer edge of an orbiting helicopter. In fact, it seems as thought there have been copters circling all day long.

Any ideas why?

Most likely they are monitoring the reported 1,000,000+ parade spectators.

We have a newborn, and have been a little.....occupied lately. Can't believe I missed a parade.

Most likely they are monitoring the reported 1,000,000+ parade spectators.
2.5 million last year. We'll see what this year's total is. It seemed a bit less crowded, but that might have been because of fewer police choke points along the route.

So not true! It's great this year. The best in at least the last 3-4 years. Although it will never be as good as when they had the $1 Red Stripe truck. :evil:

Sounds like you have a pretty valid excuse!

I had the best time I have ever had at the parade...wasn't too crowded, meaning enough room to dance. Great music, great food, great people watching. Ended my evening at Sugarcane which was perfect. Happy Labor Day!
