Can someone recommend a place? There are many of them and I don't want to walk into one that is, well, you know, a happy ending joint. Thank you.

@gio what are you going for? If you're looking for a "legit" massage therapist, look for someone with the "LMT" credential after their name. Try to find one who operates independently, which may be cheaper than going to a walk-in place. In Park Slope, Red Moon is one example of this:

Red Moon Wellness - Lena DeGloma, BA, LMT, CD - Park Slope, Brooklyn, NY -
Therapeutic Massage at Reasonable Rates for Chronic Pain & Tension, Stress Relief, Pregnancy.

If you are going for a specific therapeutic reason, then "cheapo" massage might be ineffective and not really the best way to go.

I have gone to the one on Vanderbilt by Prospect a few times and found it to be acceptable. I think it is around $60/hr, $50 for 45 mins. No frills but everything appeared to be clean and I saw no evidence of people getting happy endings.

I've gone to the place off 5th Ave, on the side street where Gorilla Coffee is. The rooms are divided by curtains, so there's no privacy and thus no happy endings (at least while I've been there). Decently clean, although the interior is a bit run down.

Summer Day Spa at 351 Flatbush on the 2nd floor by Sharlene's is good. Cheap, clean and nice people work there. Around $50 for an hour massage.
