Flatbush Farm...me likey!

Just checked out F'bush Farm tonight. I was so excited when I saw Dale's Pale Ale on the beer list, my fave from out West. It's in a can, yes, but it's all part of the fun. The happy hour is 5-8 with 2 bucks off all drinks, food is same price. That makes a frosty can of the best Pale Ale in the world $3...deeeeelightful!

My wife and I shared 3 appetizers: The smoked salmon toast (they cure their own salmon!); the spinach salad with pistachios, apricots, goat cheese, etc.; and the grilled italian sausage with onions and peppers. Food was quite good and ample portions. The salad had way too much Balsamico, but the other two appetizers were spot on, especially the salmon toast. With two Dale's each at Happy Hour prices and a shared glass of wine, our bill was around $42. The wine list is quite small, too small really, but it has some rare finds for pretty cheap. The patio is enormous, like three backyards wide. It was very uncrowded and the staff was friendly. It was a bit too dark and dank in there, though. The bartender had to light an extra candle so we could read the menu--turn some more lights on, geez. All in all, I'd recommend it for a nice casual night out.

A little bird told me that the menu at the restaurant, which opens on the 20th BTW, is going to be remarkably like Franny's. Apparently, the new owner is/was a regular there and "adopted" it for his place. That's the rumor, but from a good source. We'll see.

How were you able to be served all that if the restaurant doesn't open until the 20th?

The bar menu contains all the items above.

Thanks, Carnivore. It escaped me that no entrees were mentioned.

(Resolving to pay attention next time  )
