Doughnut Plant coming to Prospect Heights

edited June 2014 in Prospect Heights
Coming to 245 Flatbush Avenue, in the triangle made by Flatbush, Bergen & 6th, former home of Yummy Taco.

Opens this October.

This should heat up the Dough vs. Doughnut Plant debate (on whose side I generally fall to the former, but with Doughnut Plant a short walk down Flatbush, I may have to see if they can sway me).

Doughnut Plant is located in a location that is more convenient than Dough.

Wow, that entire strip of Flatbush is really going upscale!

Doughnut Plant will now be much more convenient, perhaps dangerously so...

Yes this is totally bad for my waistline - these donuts as I walk to the subway in the morning and then the desert spot in the old Beast for my walk home.

I wonder how many pictures people are going to post of the cops in the new donut shop.

I think these will be fancy donuts, like the fancy cupcakes that are going to go in Pena's on Vanderbilt.

I think cops are partial to Dunkin Donuts.

    78th Pct are you reading?

They are indeed fancy donuts. They've had a store on the Lower East Side since 2000 and in Chelsea since 2011.

If you've had Dough, which are all yeast donuts (as opposed to cake donuts), Doughnut Plant's yeast donuts run heavier and more filling. Or at least that's how I find them. I do prefer Doughnut Plant's yeast donuts to their cake donuts, but I still think Dough has them beat. All personal preference though...

While a bit pricey for my taste, I love this place! Ordered the peanut butter and jam donut and was blown away (its much better tasting than it sounds). While I can't say this will be a regular option, I'll certainly be back more than a few times.
