Sunday, June 8,2014 at approximately 3:00pm officers responded to a job of a fire at 577 Vanderbilt Avenue. Further investigation revealed that a marijuana farm was being grown in the basement and backyard of 577 Vanderbilt Avenue. Subsequently an arrest was made of a male, black, 45 years old who owned and operated the marijuana farm.

    Perhaps PO Salters wrote her Community Notification at the scene, and the smoke caused her perspective to be warped.

    I do hope this arrest does not discourage people who engage in illegal activity from calling the fire dept when there is a fire.

    I'd hate for a fire to spread to my apartment because they tried to put it out on their own to avoid arrest....

    that'd also explain why there was a cop guarding the entrance of that building all night. that was the most amount of fire trucks ive ever seen for a residential fire. firemen climbing on fire truck ladders to every floor.
