Gossip on Nostrand AVe...

Hi everyone! I'm back from a 3-week vacation, and am dying to get the deets on any new developments for Nostrand Ave. I saw the Chika Mexcicana place getting some work done on Friday, which was heartening. Anything else happen in July?

I will soon learn if any new entities plan to seek the support of CB 8 for an alcohol lic.

...but have no news yet.

While the summer is by no means over, I believe "CH west of Kingston Ave" has seen the least amount of bloodshed and violence this summer, than it has seen for several decades.

The inverse correlation between "having bodegas and bars that sell expensive craft beer, and street violence" remains a contentious subject.

However, I do not think that merely stocking craft beer at bars and bodegas located in the worst neighborhoods will lead to a reduction in such crime.

....which sucks, because I would totally open a bar or bodega on Livonia Avenue if it would save lives.
