I can't speak to pricing, but Judith Aarons is a quality landlord-tenant attorney.  http://www.aaronslawoffice.com/

Contact the Metropolitan Council on Housing. This is their tenant's telephone hotline page: http://metcouncilonhousing.org/tenants_rights_telephone_hotline.

That Council is helpful but they are not lawyers.

How can I hire a private lawyer for my housing issue?

In some cases, a good tenant lawyer will make all of the difference. Be advised that the law firms below represent tenants for a fee and do not give general advice over the phone.

If it is just about serving an eviction properly you don't need the lawyer engaged yet so to cut costs find a expediter who works with landlord tenant court. yu onyt need the lawyer if it doesn't work out and you end up going to court. there is one I have used on Atlantic Ave near Smith St. Cant recall the name.

If she is a senior citizen, Adult Protective Services will need to get involved before an eviction can take place.

Reading the site, maybe I'm wrong. But I evicted a tenant several years ago for non-payment, and had to involve APS. Maybe he was disabled, and that was the reason. I can't recall the specifics.
