OT: looking for reasonably priced ($300-ish) flat screen TV

Okay, I'm ready to ditch my current TV and upgrade to a flat screen model. But I know nothing about them.
Can anyone recommend a good brand/model? I'm not looking for a huge screen. Seventeen or twenty inches is fine. I'll be using it mostly for watching DVDs since I don't have cable.

Thanks!

Do you mean a flat panel / LCD / plasma type TV or just a regular TV with a flat screen? You'll struggle to find a flat panel one for under $300.

I'm moving at the end of the month and am selling my 24" Flat Screen Sony TV for $170. I bought it new 18 months ago. PM me if you're interested....

I was thinking of a flat panel / LCD / plasma type TV, and figured that around $300 wasn't out of the ballpark since I'm talking about a relatively small screen.
I guess I just need to go to Best Buy or someplace like that and see what's out there...

    thx.

Actually for the smaller LCD-screen TV's Target seems to have the best prices even compared to Best Buy and PC Richard.
