Catch Ah Ride Car Service to Become Little Trini Cafe in 2015!

Yesterday in front of the old, abandoned Catch A Ride Car Service (735 Nostrand Ave) I ran into the most delicious food cart, where a pleasant man served handmade doubles from a street cart. He told me that they had just leased the 735 Nostrand Ave space, and will be opening the Little Trini Cafe in spring 2015. The cafe will feature Trini specialties such as doubles, as well as tasty soups, black bean burgers, avocado rolls, fresh coconut and sugarcane, and more. The double I at was delicious and cost $2; the difference must have been that he handmade each double to order. YUM. I'm excited for that. Hopefully he has a good long lease, so he doesn't disappear like the dearly departed (to Richmond Hill) Trini Gul.

Kitchen inspection filed!

Soft opening was on Saturday! We had the doubles with shrimp and curried chicken, and hard shells filled with chickpeas and fish. Delicious. 

I will second the deliciousness. The doubles and aloo pie are dang good. 

They have introduced a 3-pack of aloo pie, double, and polourie for $5, with a free drink. It's very tasty.
