INFO: Electronics Recycling Opportunity Saturday,9.16

If you can't give away those old electronics, you can still recycle
them! Why recycle electronics? Electronics waste takes up 10% of
landfill space and up to 70% of the toxicity, leaching lead, mercury,
cadmium and more into our air, water and soil when buried or
incinerated.

Recycle This! is hosting an electronics collection from 10am to 3pm on
Saturday, September 16 in Park Slope Brooklyn at JJ Byrne Park (next
to Old Stone House and Farmers Market) 5th Avenue at 4th Street. Take
the R or F train to 9th Street / 4th Avenue stop

The event is FREE, though a $5 donation is appreciated to cover the
cost of responsible recycling.

We're accepting computers, monitors, printers, copiers, fax machines,
scanners, keyboards, mice, cables, routers, radios and stereo
equipment, phones and cell phones, microwaves, televisions (no wooden
consoles). Materials will be recycled by Per Scholas, a non-profit
organization in the South Bronx that reconditions serviceable
computers and provides them at a low cost to technology-deprived
families and schools.

We will also offer recycling of other materials with the assistance of
3R Living, including ink cartridges, CDs, batteries, floppy disks &
zip disks, VHS tapes and crayons.

For more information, contact info @RecycleThisNYC.org

Recycle This! would like to thank the 5th Avenue Merchants'
Association for its generous contribution towards making this
e-Recycling Day a success!
