Fire at new mexican restaurant Chika (814 Nostrand at Lincoln), closes it until approx mid-April

I am getting reports that early this morning there was a large fire that involved Chika. It seems to have happened around 12:45 AM:

Oh no!

Chika was on the first floor of a 3 story building, so the apartments above it were likely occupied when the fire started.

However, I have not read any reports that involve injuries. ...which is obviously good news.

terrible news! I am out the door to check up on my beloved Lula Bagel that is right next door.

Lula is fine. some water in the basement.  Nothing to see at Chika everything is behind roll down gates. No evidence of a raging conflageration. so debris on sidewalk. Maybe it wasnt that bad.  Looking forward to friday opening of that place on bergen and nostrand.  soft opening tonight.

Hopefully Chika will be able to reopen soon.
