When we get tired of dozens of coffeeshops and mexican restaurants, dozens of nail salons will come.

The LES, UWS, and Park Slope used to be over run with coffeeshops and Mexican restaurants.

Now, they are over run with nail salons. http://parkslopestoop.com/blog/business/dueling-nail-salons-on-7th-avenue-which-will-open-first

Washington Avenue and Franklin Avenue are next.

At our present pace, it appears as if we are about 2 years away.

Sorry.

True, but Nostrand Avenue is already overrun with nail salons.

The nail salons I am describing seem more upscale, and less prone to offering their clientele an intricate airbrush design.

    Which is kind of sad.

Well, we had a nail salon on Franklin and then it turned into a hair salon that seems to be doing well.

First we had a ton of nail and beauty places, then we got coffee shops then Mexican and now nail salons again. Is it just me or is this one all giant circle that will remain unbroken until the sun dies out?

I believe it is best thought of as an upward spiral, wherein to advance we must get above the layer below us by literal and figurative screw motions..

As we move upward, we believe that we are making progress.

However, once we reach the top, there is no one to admire our nails, or laugh with us after we have had too many margaritas or far too much coffee.

If no one will compliment my manicure as a gulp down coffee to get me through my post margarita hangover what is the point?

Here is a photo of me from a different angle than I usually present:

While my excellent ears and nose often allow me to pick up trends that others do not, you seem to be seeking advice that my friend is better suited to give. In addition to his excellent eyes and ears, he uses the force:

For best results, cut and paste @xlizellx 's quote onto this left section of this page: http://www.acapela-group.com/

    Select "willLittlecreature (emotive voice)"

push listen, and Yoda will speak.

    Enjoy.

I should have known xlizellx would be channeling The Simpsons.

...but I still prefer to consult Yoda for life's answers.

It seems not all of those nail salons were supported with money that was legally obtained. The director of the the Park Slope/Prospect Heights section of the the Flatbush BID is accused of stealing $ and getting manicures.

I think it occupies the zone that exists between The Yale Law Journal and The Onion.
