241 Rogers (aka 1130 - 1136 President St) is about to become a coffee shop: Marker Coffee

For about a year, this storefront in the middle of this photo was Lady Charles Desserts. Now, it is about to become something else. Request for kitchen inspection has been recently requested from DOH.

I wonder what happened to Lady Charles. Its social media accounts are still active and very up-to-date but no (recent) mention of them closing the store or moving.

It may still be open.

However, it was recently listed for rent:

...Which makes me believe something new is coming.

They are now reportedly awaiting DOH inspection.

If they pass, they will open right afterword.

i looked at their twitter account and saw they provide cookies for my favorite work-time coffee shop in manhattan. those are some damn good cookies

I suspect they have an affiliation with Gasoline Alley.

I am finding that most of the places opening in the immediate area have an established business model, and/or another location.

They bring capital and expertise.

interesting! now i'm curious. i've been getting coffee at gasoline alley since the day they opened and i know the owners pretty well. i'll ask them if i see them

Hopefully Nostrand, btw Union and President, will start perking up soon too.. Almost every storefront on that block has a "for rent" sign.

When the Armory plans are finally announced, many potential business will become a lot more confident.

Went in to Marker this morning (they said I was the first customer), and was welcomed by friendly faces and some great coffee. I had a cappuccino and a cold brew. This place will be a great addition to the neighborhood.

I just came from Marker. They are serving the most delicious chocolate chip cookie I have ever tasted in my lifetime.

More cookie details please...are they crust or soft???

Crust is firm on the outside, but inside is soft and gewy..  Muy chocolatety.
