That is certainly a lot of development. I think it's also fair to point out it's only stuff permits are filed for, it doesn't include reno's or a few less scrupulous developers.

    It is no wonder that the DOB can't keep up with keeping the sites regulated and safe.

    Seriously. I read somewhere that they were already stretched thin prior to the corruption shakedown, then they lost 16 more employees. 

    I know of at least two developments not on the map that are happening near my house.

    It isn't a large exaggeration to state that the owner of every wooden house, garage, warehouse and vacant lot has been approached by a guy with a blank cashiers check.

    They worked zip 11238 in 2010, and have now moved south.

    I really look forward to a well written report from the Dept of Labor that estimates to what degree construction laborers are working unpaid overtime, being told to sleep on site, not receiving sick days, and are working on tasks beyond their skill level.

    The DOB is not the only entity that has not increased it's staffing to keep up with the need.
