To get an idea of what the architect has done in the past see his Facebook page:

It seems like a suburban aesthetic.

The parking lot consists of 792 and 794 Classon, but the plans were filed "only" under the 792 address.

794 is the corner. 792 is on the right side.

So, they could be building on only the right half of the parking lot "now" and the other half "later".

The building next door 790 was recently supersized to accomodate 8 units: http://bktothefullest.blogspot.com/2014/02/super-sized-8-family-in-crown-heights.html

If my logic is correct, we might see a total of 16 units on the parking lot.
8 units at the middle 792 lot and another 8 at the corner 794 lot.

I'd like one of the units in the corner building, thanks.

I was wondering when this was going to go.  It's the last lot on the block to be affected by the changes to the nabe.

The size and age of the tree on the left side of the lot provides some information re: just how long this lot has been vacant.

    http://goo.gl/maps/cHGdz

...that tree is within the lot, and grew SINCE the prior building(s) was torn down.

It wasn't "planted". It started to grow there after the lot has already been vacant for something like a decade...

What makes you think there was a building there?

My empty lot was never built on to my knowledge, at least not since 1900.

The Brooklyn Daily Eagle mentions 792 and 794 Classon a few times between 1900 and 1925. Some of the mentions seem to indicate buildings:

On August 5, 1900, 792 seems to have been at least 2 stories tall:

"WANTED WORK WASHING AND IRONING, by a respectable woman, to go out by the day or to takf home; or housecleaning; has good city reference. Call all week at 792 Classon av, second floor."

In May 1940, a grocery store seems to have been in 794 Classon:

"Man Stabbed to Death In Grocery Store Fight
j Elmer Bean. 35. of 503 St. John's Place, died last night in the Jewish ! Hospital of a stab wound in the chest. He had run bleeding ; through the streets to an undertaking parlor where he collapsed. Arrested on a charge of homicide was John D'Amato. who runs a grocery store at 794 classon Ave. The grocer told Radio Policeman John T. Mitchell that Bean came Into his store yesterday afternoon In an angry frame of mind D'Amato said Bean picked up a knife from the counter and at-j tempted to stab him. D'Amato ! said he took another knife to defend himself and in the scuffle Bean was stabbed. "

Good find.  It would be interesting to see the 1940 and 1980 tax photos.

It has now been revealed that the rest of the lot will become 41 apartments.   They will be small rentals, around 670 sq ft a piece.

    794 Classon

Likely inhabited by very transient, young, highly educated people.

792 looks like it is ready to get a facade and glass.
