Subject: Tini not tini on the wallet...

I went to Tini with a friend about 2 weekends ago. They have a nice wine list but a bit on the expensive side for wine-by-the glass -$7-10 per glass. I think that's a little pricey, especially for Red Hook (and I live there, so I'm not implying that the neighborhood is low-class or anything).
Their menu is mediteranean in flavor and consists of small plates. The food is really good, but again I think the prices are too high.
We each had 2 glasses of wine and shared 3 small dishes, and the total bill was....$100! We were dumb struck. It added up much faster than we thought. I think it's a nice addition to the neighborhood, but I think they should knock $1-2 off each wine glass and $2-4 off each food item.

I've walked passed Tini passed on my way to Fairway.. Very nice Decor'...But thanks for the heads up on the price list (WOW) that's ah' bit much...your better off stoping in on LeNells for an nice inexpensive bottle of port for about 7 - 10 bucks!!.....
But I guess if your looking for nice atmosphere and to treat yourself once in a while... seems like a pleasant place to do so!!!

I really liked the staff (they were very friendly and helpful), the wine selection was interesting, the food was great, and the atmosphere is nice, but if you ask me, it's too expensive. I think that it's a good place if you just want to get a drink (ONE glass) while waiting for a table at Good Fork or for a special night out, like evee said, but not as a regular hang out.

    Subject: prices at tini

    FYI

Our wine by the glass list starts at 6.00/ glass.

we are commited to fine wines, as well as our beers, and food (primarily sourced from small artisan producers with whom we have relationships, including Added Value/ Red Hook Farm).

We will always have terrific choices in the 6 - 7 range, in addition to our other selections.

Most of our food prices are under 10.00, including ala carte artisan cheeses served with breads, fruits, and nuts for 6.00 each. I think this is good value, and a nice alternative to fried foods available at the other Red Hook Bars.

    Thanks.
