Bierkraft Closed

As far as I can tell, Bierkraft appears to be closed for good, around Jun 13-14 - anyone else have further info?

Unfortunately, they still sold my wife a gift card on Jun 12 which she gave to me for my birthday.  Now, that credit is worthless.  Not happy.

It's not coming back.  All staff were fired, website is down, etc.

Really? One website (DNA?) said they were closing for renovations. Zito's next door closed and is becoming an Indian restaurant.

I'm going with permanently closed.

I filed a consumer/non-delivery of goods claim via 311.

If I were the owner of Covenhoven on Classon, I would put up a sign in Beircraft's window, advising their former customers of my existence.

Perhaps the old PS hippie aura now wiped out by chain stores has moved to CHN?

I suspect that more than a few residents of Park Slope already walk to CH to find former services and vibe.

I certainly miss their sandwiches more than their beer selection.

And I never found the Bierkraft people anything but helpful and nice while I only have found the Covenhoven people surrly and dismissive.

Only pretzels at Covenhoven.

City Sub and Beircraft represent major losses to PS.

Berg'n and Franklin Park are decidedly inferior.

FYI: Covenhoven has grilled-cheese sandwiches, baguettes and cheese and charcuterie too.

I always enjoyed the staff at Beirkraft since it opened in 2001.  Interesting crew at Beirkraft.. so knowledgeable about what, before then, I called beer. I'll have to try out Covenhoven some time.   Nostrand could use a Beirkraft style growler connection for a major gain.
