Eyeglasses, Lens, Vision Exam Thread

Nowadays where does everyone go for their eye exam and to get lenses put in? Not nabe specific, I'll travel for a great optician/Optometrist. I went to Cohen's on 7th ave and they were THE WORST (the worst, Jerry, the worst!) So no chain stores for me anymore.

I have frames already, but welcome future tips. I do, however, need very good lenses. I've heard of Crizal, anyone use that?

I used Warby Parker for glasses and exam. Good company, good prices. They don't do lenses.

I liked Pearle Vision in Park Slope. The optometrist knew his stuff and didn't rush. The actual buying of glasses wasn't the best experience, but I liked the eye doctor.

I like Milano on 5th ave near Prospect. Also PArl slope optical on Flatbush near 6th ave

I've used Heights Vision Center, on Montigue Street for years. I started going there because they accept my optical plan–they're much better than the one place in Park Slope that does so.

BTW Crizal is an ant-scratce/anti-glare coating. I've gotten it on my last few pairs of glasses and tgink it's very good.

I second Bobmarvin's recommendations both for Heights Vision and for Crizal. They are great!

Ask to have your eye exam done by Dr. Friedman when you're there–he's great.
