    A-mazing. That's what that is.

There's a chinese artist who makes bonzai scenes for his openings out of food. i saw pictures of two in a japanese art mag (but he really is chinese). one had mountains made of fish heads pointing upwards, trees made of broccoli. another was made of sliced raw (or maybe smoked?) salmon, layered and folded to look like a landscape.

i think he made an edible mini-shanghai too, but the caption to that picture was only in japanese.

 okay, that made me, alternately:

    1) confused
    2) hungry
    3) amazed

i guess we could call it an uber-schnackie.

"um, yes, i'm ready to order. i'd like fifty-two uber-schnackies, please, and hold the grape tomatoes if you will, thanks."

It renewed my love for cornichons . . .

    sweet tea,
I now know that "Bonsai artist fish heads mountain salmon shanghai"
gets 10,300 Google hits. And the first couple pages don't lead to the miniature Shanghai or any Japanese art mags.
This is the first time the Internets let me down today!
    Je suis desole...

WhyFi, holy mackerel! where is that from, and am i allowed to try eating it by myself?

...(hmm... gots to get me a good burger for dinner, methinks)... =P~

and isn't that knowledge worth something?

i read about it in a (bilingual) japanese art mag called "artit". the guy's name, now that i look, is song dong. maybe that will help.

i did find these pictures, of a city made of biscuit (as in cookie?) packets: http://www.flickr.com/photos/nic/sets/72057594066973575/with/101704800/
