611 Vanderbilt (near Bergen) was a sunburnt calf, now it wants to become a Tin Kettle

The site that was Sun Burnt Calf and then Hawker bar, would like to come back to life as Tin Kettle.

If they are successful and keep their present name, the Tin Kettle will obtain a full liquor lic and be able to use their rear yard.

Long term readers may recall that the back yard was really nice. Not to be rude, but it was perhaps the best part of Sunburnt Calf.

I was very sad that Hawker Bar didn't make it.  The food was fantastic, but maybe a bit fancy for the area at the time, which was at least two years ago.  The backyard was very nice, as well.  Hopefully the Tin Kettle is a good addition to the street.

While I am not a fancy individual, I think Tin Kettle would be wise to gear itself to those who are.

I don't believe that the preferences of the folks who will be moving into 550 Vanderbilt and are already buying area brownstones, are YET being adequately met.

Update:
Tin Kettle rec'd the support of CB8, and will now seek a lic from NYS SLA.

24 indoor seats
18 outdoor seats

Indoors will close at 2 AM.
Outdoor closes at 10 on school nights, and 11 on Fri and Sat.
