B&M French Dry Cleaners on Nostrand is Closing

Saw a sign up today. Closing at the end of the month. Across the street is the still-shuttered space that once held the Triple S Greengrocer (which I miss every day).

I was not able to find a real estate posting for the site, but the location is really good for a quick food use.

That sucks but at the same time they did lose one of my shirts once and it was pretty expensive. I now go to the dry cleaners on Nostrand between Park Placde and Prospect Place.

In truth, B&M was not the best dry cleaner in the world. But I wonder if Lord's tailoring, which is next door, will also be closing. Domino effect brought about by the landlord's expectations re the purchasing power of the imminent new residents at the new condo at Sterling (between Nostrand and Rogers?)

Needless to say, the "cause" is not limited to just that condo.

Dry cleaners strike me as a type of business that can survive the radical changes taking place.

However, those that tend to survive tend to be part of chains and are located further away from subway stations than this one.

...Dry cleaners just can't pay the rent that more profitable businesses can in such a high foot traffic area.
