A brown tabby cat has suddenly been hanging around on Classon avenue (btwn st. marks/bergenfor a few days this week and has captured the hearts of residents and passersby because she's extremely affectionate and sweet.

She obviously was a house cat; really well groomed, clean, no fleas or matted hair.

A few of us are trying to find her owner and could use some help...or finding her a new home. we can't let her go to a shelter and be put to sleep!

Classon ave has fallen in love with her!

She most likely is lost, and has been sitting in front of 675 classon ave for about 4 days. Several residents have been feeding her, and it's odd that she has set up camp here and won't leave, so she perhaps belongs to someone on the block.

I have a dog, and other neighbors also are not able to take her, but a woman who owns a pet sitting business has offered to temporarily give her a home. BUT she already owns 5 cats! So we really need to find a new home (or her owner) asap.

PLEASE spread the word if you know anyone missing a cat, or looking for a new cat to love.

This cat is EXTREMELY LOVEABLE...if you met her you wouldn't be able to just walk away.

she was taken to a vet and has no microchip, but she appears healthy and about 4-5 yrs old. HELP!

Aww, I saw this cat on Saturday right where you said.  Was just sitting on the sidewalk near some people like "Just chillin'.. just chillin'".  Didn't run away when people got near.  Really cute.

Hi. I would strongly suggest you immediately post this location info, the kitty's photo, and the pet-sitter's contact info on the 'Lost and Found Pets in Brooklyn' page on Facebook. Thousands of people will then share the info & pic in the hopes of locating the owner. Hundredsof lost pets have been reunited via this FB page. I hope this helps this sweet kitty. Thank you.

That looks like a calico - and she's great looking! Hope she gets connected with a good home soon. Is it possible (I hate to think) that someone in that building may have owned her but moved and left her behind, or died abruptly without making plans for family / friends to get her?

    UPDATE:
I asked around, made some fliers, and didn't hear about anyone missing a cat. I met a woman who owns a pet sitting business, and she couldn't give the cat a permanent home because she already had a bunch of cats. But she did take the cat temporarily and fed it, took care of it, and took it to the vet to check for a microchip, and found none. The vet said it was pretty healthy.

One of her clients apparently fell in love with the cat and has adopted it. (yay!)

If we ever do find the owner, they will agree to give the cat back, otherwise, this cute little baby has found a loving, permanent home.
