The Brooklyn Flea won't be at 1000 Dean this winter

Any clue why the Brownstoner boys aren't hosting their own Flea again?

Did they book a long-term ground floor tenant?

The Flea is moving to a similar, but even larger, building in Sunset Park.

As per Brownstoner, a tenant has been found for 1000 Dean, but they haven't said who it is yet.

Dean Machine II perhaps? I know they've been chasing a second location nearby.

Dean Machine announced the second location last night: 650 Franklin Ave between Bergen & St. Marks. The former Swan Pharmacy.

Sounds like build-out is just underway, opening slated for November 1 (same day as the larger and slicker coworking space, Industrious, is scheduled to open at 594 Dean near Carlton). Name for both spaces is changing to Work and Co. (because what rhymes with Franklin, really?).

650 Franklin workers can get happy hour on either side - at Kelso restaurant / bar to the north (haven't had the pleasure)...or Imperial Biker Club on the corner of Franklin and St. Marks (I've been several times, and predicted within a year it would be full of hipsters - this seals it).

This also means 1000 Dean's ground floor tenant remains a mystery for now...

Here's a great writeup from awhile back about a member of the general public visiting Imperial Biker Club.

I think sit down restaurants like Mayfield, Bar Corvo, and Sunshine Co benefits from  The Flea being at 1000 Dean, because many people there ate at such places rather than the noisy onsite food court (Berg'n).

This winter there may be shorter lines for brunch.

Which other Franklin Avenue places are "full of hipsters?"

The biker bar is not going to be full of hipsters.  Ever.

I think the last business that tried to exist exclusively on hipster business was Cool Pony.

    It quickly failed.

The Flea's move to Industry City in Sunset park is part of a massive effort to develop the complex.

They have the resources to make it happen.   You could be a part of it:
