1448 Bedford (at Park) to become a realty office

The manager said it would be an upscale realty office, that focuses on buyers not renters.

Not part of a chain. Opens in mid October.

The entire building was gut rehabbed over the last two years, and I think the new residential tenants are already in.

Now, and before

Ah, 1448 Bedford Ave. This building was one of 13 purchased by my former employer, BEC New Communities in 1987 for $1 from the City.  We gut renovated it in the following years and began selling the 9 residential units in 1990 as subsidized condos.  The commercial groundfloor unit was our property management office from the early 90s up to 1997 when we moved to 67 Hanson Place in Fort Greene.  The ground floor unit was made into a daycare facility which lasted about eight years.  

I have yet to visit the new brokerage.  I'd love to see what they did to the old place.  We used to have our company holiday parties there.  A lot of great memories!!

It appears like they will catering to the brownstone buyer/renovator.
