Raccoon decides courtyard of Turner Towers on Eastern Parkway is great place to sleep

Turner Towers is a large doorman building located on Eastern Parkway across from the museum.

For the past few nights, the overnight doorman has stated a raccoon has been wandering around the courtyard, which has provided him with something to watch on his otherwise very quiet shift.

Raccoons sleep during the day.

As it began to get light today, the raccoon apparently decided to bed down on one of the just-above-street-level air conditioners in the courtyard.

He is still resting there at the moment, and residents have placed a dog carrier with tuna fish in it nearby, under the belief that he might eat the tuna and then decide to sleep in the carrier.

    Hopefully it's not rabid.

    He didn't like tuna, but fell for chicken nuggets. He shows no signs of being rabid.

    Once it is dark, he will be transported to the park. image

    Why not leave it to animal control? They're the professionals. :)

    @viktor2867 -
    I suspect your photos are not uploading because they are too large.   You can either reduce their size to something around 300k and then upload them, or put them on your facebook page and I'll get them up here.

    Thanks

    We thought about that possibility, but for the past few nights, s/he has been a loner.

    We ultimately decided s/he would be better away from Eastern Parkway.

    Given how much s/he likes chicken McNuggets, we expect it to next be sighted at the McDonalds on Empire and Franklin.

    The NYT reports we are not alone in moving them to the parks
