ultimate frisbee

hi all,

i went on a rare run saturday morning and saw about 20 folk lined up on prospect park tossing frisbees - it seemed like they were practicing - maybe they're on a team? was just curious if anyone knows anythign about this and if they let new people join...

I haven't played ultimate frisbee in so long. I could really be down for some of that before it gets too cold.

my roommate mentioned there are a couple pickup games in the Park - one on Saturday morning, which she said was fairly competitive and a different one on Sunday morning I think.

oh so does that mean if i show up i can join in?

I think I actually know a guy who plays there. If you can believe this, he was on the Japanese national ultimate frisbee team--no lie--and he's joined some high intensity team here in NY that sometimes practices or plays in Prospect Park. I'm betting the team you saw is the same one.

Yes, the pickup games are open for all, and I guess they're always looking for more women to play

A friend of mine plays a pickup game friday mornign between 9th and 12th streets

i've never played before, but thought i'd be fun...can't on friday mornign though

not sure what it's call but if u walk into the park on 16th (by the movie theatre) in south slope - there's a huge field that'll be in front of u....if u turn your head slightly to the left that's where they were - there are a bunch of baseball fields in that area and a gated section for horseback riders.....
