Not surprising. This block has quickly become an epicenter of newness.

Incredibly frustrating that it's getting harder and harder to find hair products for black hair in this neighborhood.

I walked past 800 Nostrand today and there was paper up on the windows. Disappointingly, there was also a stack of toilet paper and paper towels in the window. Unless they are being used to clean the space and/or be useful to the renovators and contractors, I hope that is not a sign this will become another bodega or 99 cent store.

Walked past again today, and there are shelves filled with paper plates, paper goods, detergent, etc. I guess another discount store is coming.

It is totally going to be a discount store. There was a "Grand Opening Soon: Discount Store" plastic sign mounted. It was already falling down. I give it a year. We are churning and burning on the retail strip of Nostrand. And I have little sympathy for uncreative business owners who are giving us ANOTHER shitty discount store. When we already have some great ones less than a block away!

They may have only been given a 1 year lease.    My sense is the landlords of Nostrand continue, for the most part, to wait for well capitalized tenants.

I continue to patiently wait for a tenant to be secured for the Triple S space.   The opening of a dollar store nearby may make it less likely that another dollar store opens there.
