Is Annie's 88 Express at 880 Nostrand (by Union) still open?

A kitchen inspection request has been filed on the property, which could mean something as small as a change in operator ...or as "exciting" as a new place to eat.

I know the owner of the building, the business was transferred to the son of the original owner of the business so I guess that's the reason for the inspection. As a matter of fact, I typed the lease and it's good for 5 years.

Annie's is awesome. Its been around (at one location or another) for almost 40 years. Gotta love those businesses that remained committed to the neighborhood.

The gate was down earlier this week at a time the take-away was usually open. The next day or two later in the afternoon I saw a couple of fellows working on the gate, which was only part-way open.

Reminds me of past days when most shops were the mom-and-pop types where prices were low and service was often ( but not always) with a smile. With all these increases in rents, you have to wonder how much longer will these shops be open. Hopefully, they will be around forever.  

is Annie's good food? looking forward to trying it when it reopens.
