Community Housing Forum, Sat Feb 6th. PS 9 Auditorium

"The PS 9 PTO will host a Community Housing forum on Saturday, February 6, 2016, from 1:00PM - 4:00PM in the PS 9 Auditorium. It will be an opportunity to hear local officials and several non-profit agencies share insights and strategies on affordable housing in Prospect Heights and our surrounding neighborhoods.

Come join us as elected officials, community-based organizations, and the Prospect Heights Neighborhood Development Council (PHNDC) come together to present a forum on housing in our community. Panelists from the Fifth Avenue Committee, IMPACCT Brooklyn and Mutual Housing Association of New York will discuss what tenants can do if harassed by their landlords. Community members will also learn how they can prepare for and enter lotteries for affordable housing, which affordable apartments are leased and how to sign up for notifications when affordable housing becomes available in the area.

The presenters will be available after the panel to answer questions from the audience. Whether you are searching for an affordable apartment or would like to find out more about how affordable housing meets the needs of a diverse neighborhood, we hope you'll join us on February 6 at 1:00PM in our Auditorium.
