Four years. 

I don't know if the school that lent them the auditorium realizes that.

This might be one of those events where success is measured strictly in terms of the number of people attending.

It's an ambitious agenda. 

I believe that many of these agenda items would be of concern to a number of these politicians' constituents. Maybe a series of town halls would be better.

I think the problem lies in the definition of these terms and concepts.

IE The vast majority of people in the nation are for (or opposed) to the concepts listed. However, they may define the terms in far different ways.

So, in actuality, there is little agreement.

So, while I suspect people who attend this meeting will have similar definitions and will reach agreement, the larger audience (nation?) is not reached.

...great for getting constituent support, however.

@whynot_31 - I see this agenda as being tailored to the constituents in the areas represented by the politicians attached to this event. It's safe to assume that the interests would be at odds with those of middle America, as NYC is not representative of America as a whole. Yet, there are a number of people who are concerned about where we go from here in light of the incoming presidential administration.

I expect it to be well attended.

It is just about to end. Well organized and a lot of information. Definitely worth attending. Gave me some hope at least for our local community. A monthly civil rights task force is being set up by ny state senator Jesse Hamilton. To sign up call his office. 718-284-4700.
