Hey Folks, I might be moving to the nabe. I was wondering if anyone could comment on the train situation in the area. I've heard different estimates. How long does it take to get to west fourth on the AC? Also, If i had the choice, which i might, should i choose to get off at Franklin or Clinton/Washington, particularly at night?

thanks for any info.

well both Clinton/Wash and Franklin are local stops on the C. I take the C every morning to West 4th... and I think it usually takes me like 30 mins if I stay on the local train. That usually includes waiting for the C train to finally come... you could switch to the A at Jay Street but there is only 1 stop difference between the local and the express...

as for which station... it all depends on where you live...

My friend does the West 4 trip to work from clinton/washington - says 30 mins door to door is pretty normal.

plus, it's fun to refer to it as the "c-dubs" stop

Which stop does depend on both where you live and how you feel about the Franklin station. I use the Franklin station day and night and it doesn't bother me...

    Subject: Also half-way between Franklin & Clinton/Washington

I use both stations. I always recommend Franklin for friends from Manhattan coming for the first time because there is only one place they can get out and it's easy to give instructions. I've never had a problem there and it's close to the little library on Franklin and the dry cleaner I use there. Coming home, if I don't need to pick up dry cleaning or go to the library, I get off at Clinton/Washington, simply because it comes first and I'm eager to get out of the train.
